Cosmetic Tubes: Everything There’s to Know

Introduction

There are literally a million products in the market of the modern world all available for people to choose from and use. With a consumer base of almost 8 billion people, the competition in every category is always fierce. This is why, companies always have to put their best foot forward when dealing with the marketing and packaging of their product because it is as they say, ‘first impression’s last’.

One of the most prominent industries where the need for an appealing packaging is a constant is the cosmetics industry. With more and more people feeling more and more conscious about the various aspects of their body, thousands of companies are always looking to make some profit off from that demand. As such, in the cosmetic industry, it is not just the outer appearance that matters. The appearance and appeal of the container in which the product is stored have also become an imperative factor.

The answer

Well, given that cosmetic products are mostly liquids, a tube or a collapsible tube is the best solution. The more solid products such as powder, makeup, compact, etc. can be easily stored in containers.

Designing and manufacturing solid containers is no biggie. There just has to be a container with a lid colored in the company’s colors with some designing on the surface.

It is the tubes that require some amount of brain-picking in terms of deciding what shape to give to the tube, what kind of orifice to have, what kind of closure to have, etc.

Tube containers

Collapsible tubes are nothing but cylindrical and, in some cases, rectangular, hollow structure with a small opening at one end from where the stored material oozes out. In most cases, the material inside a tube can be dispensed simply by applying hand pressure, but some tubes have to be used with a key at the base which allows it to roll up and squeeze the material out.

Tube containers are crafted out of various materials. The most commonly used are plastic, aluminum, and paperboard.

The orifice of a tube can also assume different shapes. There can be just opening or there can be a nozzle to spray out the stuff or there can be multiple small openings instead of one for a more regulated dispensing of the product, etc.

Types of tubes

As we discussed before, cosmetic tubes come in various shapes and sizes. Some of the most common designs that we are accustomed to seeing include-

  • Rollerballs which house perfumes and deodorants
  • Vial with a brush fixed to the twist cap. Mascara and lip gloss are the most common examples of such tubes.
  • Cylindrical tubes that can be twisted up. Lipsticks and lip glosses are housed in such tubes.
  • A tube or a vial with a nozzle spray. Deodorants, perfumes, toner, etc. are generally stored in tubes with a nozzle at the end which just has to be pushed down with a little pressure and the liquid inside gets sprayed out.

Jiangsu Xinfly Packaging Co. Ltd. Is a leader in the world of cosmetic tube. They have a wide array of tubes available in all shapes and sizes. You may also equip the cosmetic tube with different applicators for your facial care.
